Nurses’ protest, politicians stay away

MP Hassan Afeef

MP Hassan Afeef

According to Mr. Hassan Afeef, all nurses should be sacked for their intention to protest to express frustration against their salary from the new “vazeefaage onigandu” set by the Civil Service Commission (haveeru.com.mv).

Instead of a proper solution to the actual problem, they think that they can solve everything by flexing their political muscles. Such statements are clear indications of political pressure on a so called “minivan muassasaa” the Civil Service Commission (CSC). As a result the incompetent fools running the commission will yet again resort to quick fixes and cook up another “tea-room” policy and enforce it along with the daily circulars.

I wonder if these politicians don’t have anything better to do. After all the nurses are protesting within the legal boundaries. But what about the opening of the people’s majilis for a new term? It’s not even legal. So who should step down???

Politicians, please take notes…
- Why don’t you spend some productive time listening to why these civil servants protest and understand their problems. After all you will be doing the job that we elected you for…
- Unlike some people like Mr. Reeko Moosa and Mr. Hassan Afeef, who get to enjoy 62k+ paychecks with little or no education, these medical professionals have spent most of their lives studying to get to where they are now. So we can’t blame them for being a little bit demanding for their worth.

Stooges in Civil Service Commission, please take notes…
- Nobody is untouchable. If you have forgotten, just ask someone about what happened to the person who was sitting in the throne for 30+ years. Same facts of life apply to you too.
